how to repair a 2006 dodge charger with p1004 fault code
p1004 is a fault code caused by a faulty short runner actuator.
Actuator i located on intake manifold 3.5 L only first you will have to remove actuator and check intake manifold rod that sits behind it if that rod is free you will have to replace the actuator only if rod is hard to turn by hand then you will have to replace the whole manifold assembly.check for any service bulletins or any pcm flashes using the VIN number before replacing any parts.
In some cases actuator will not be available separately that's when you will buy a new 1600 dollar manifold with out any other choice.
Remember that every year is different than the previous year use the VIN good luck
